Kurt Diemer has been dedicated to the Snipe class for a long time and our sailboat in this class is renowned for having titles in competitions and regattas at all levels, such as Worlds (2 times), Pan American and South American (3 times each), championships Brazilian (15) and State, with great success in several fleets in our country and also in the hands of sailors in some countries abroad.
The recent World Championship title held in Ilha Bela in October 2019, won in one of our boats, demonstrates the quality and performance of the Snipe of our manufacture. In addition to the title, our boats occupied 8 positions in the top 11 places, demonstrating a broad dominance in the competition.
Jorge Rodrigues is an Electronic Engineer by training, also post-graduated at PUC-RJ in Computer Science, having worked in his last 29 years as a professional at the multinational White Martins, both in Brazil and abroad.
Active sailor since he was 16 years old, he started his sporting career in the Penguin class, having also participated throughout his career in competitions in the Snipe classes and also sailed on windsurf boards.
Dedicated to the Finn class since 2004, acting in this class as a sailor, boat builder and gauge and technician. He is responsible for the national Finn manufacturing project, where he initially imported molds and construction technology for boats from abroad.
The first title won was the 2008 Carioca Championship in the hands of sailor Henry Boening. The start of production is mentioned on the website of Revista Náutica.
He has in his sporting titles, the Brazilian Champion Master of the Finn Class, conquered in 2010 in a boat built by him, as well as the State Champion of the Finn Class that same year.
His work as a boat builder in the class is internationally recognized and he was invited to work in the 2016 Olympics held in Rio de Janeiro, as a technician and boat measurer at this event.
In recognition of the class’s development work in Brazil, the International Finn Association published a article about the growth of the class in our country, motivated by the national manufacture and the rise of the young sailor Jorge Zarif on the international scene.
